Day One: Tough Teens/Challenging Children

There has been a huge increase in the number of children and youth with behaviour that disrupts classrooms, endangers staff, families, and communities, and interferes with academic/occupational, social, and personal success. This exciting seminar will provide you with successful ways of dealing with even the most challenging young people of any age. Participants will learn practical, unique, road-tested strategies that will make their work more productive and effective. Through a combination of lecture, videotape, and practical exercises, participants will learn:
  •  to stop blaming and start solving
  •  to accurately assess levels of behavioural severity, aggression, and conflict
  •  to achieve success with even the most resistant children and youth
  •  to utilise a child or youth's strengths to manage their difficult behaviour
WHAT TO DO WHEN WHAT YOU NORMALLY DO ISN'T WORKING!
